BATH BUS

BATH BUSBATH BUSBATH BUS

The clean in between. The clean in between.

It started with Kismet.

I gave Kismet a home. He gave me reasons to keep going.

In 2017, after a life-altering on-duty incident that would eventually end my career with the NYPD, I adopted a dog who had been abandoned in Central Park. I was struggling to find my way forward. Somehow, we found it together.

Through walks, hikes, and slow-paced runs, our miles and tribulations changed the way I understood love, suffering, and showing up for someone.

We healed together. We healed each other.

When he needed me…

In 2022, Kismet was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma - a type of skin cancer. In 2022, Kismet was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma - a type of skin cancer. Despite two surgeries, the tumors returned before his wounds had fully healed, and several times a day they would reopen. I had to clean and dress them at a makeshift bathing station, on the asphalt, outside our front door. All I had was his medical supplies and two buckets - one for warm, soapy water and the other to rinse blood from the towels and sponges.

He had carried me through my darkest days. Now it was my turn.

I hired a mobile groomer for a bath and blowout because I needed help. I needed to alleviate some of the stress, and frankly, I  WANTED TO PAMPER MY PUP (maybe for the last time).  Instead of pampered and made to feel new, he came back shorn, exposed, and unrecognizable.  My disappointment was immediate, but my concern for Kismet was greater

I needed someone I could trust- someone who would listen, understand what he was going through, and care for him with the same patience I was trying to give him. That experience helped shape the service I wanted to build.

Every dog is someone's Kismet.

Every dog is someone's Kismet.

The Bath Bus promise is simple: listen first, agree on the care needed, and respect the dog in front of us. A simple bath can still take time. We make room for that.

Today, Jena and I are building a family business guided by what Kismet taught me- and a promise that reaches beyond the bath:

Leave every pup and every place better than we found it.
